Governor Justice May Call Another Special Legislative Session

Contractors who bid on road projects in West Virginia would have to pay a 5 percent tax, if a proposal from Governor Justice becomes law during a special session. The Governor then wants that tax revenue to fund drug treatment and prevention programs to fight the state's opioid crisis. Some lawmakers like the idea: Del. Black Bears Split Doubleheader with State College

The Black Bears entered their Wednesday night doubleheader with State College trailing Mahoning Valley by a half-game in the Pinckney Division standings. A pair of wins in that twin bill would guarantee the Bears at least a share of the division lead before the end of the night. West Virginia didn't sweep the doubleheader, but it did get its share of first place in the division.

(CNN) - Nearly 275,000 iPhone cases that contain glitter suspended in liquid are being recalled after reports of leakage that caused burns and skin irritation. MixBin Electronics sold the cases designed for iPhone 6, 6s and 7 through Amazon, Henri Bendel, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch, Victoria's Secret and The company announced the recall after 24 reports worldwide of skin irritation or chemical burns. Crews Prepare Main Street in Bridgeport for Paving

The Bridgeport Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for Main Street/Route 50 in Bridgeport.  Crews have been working to prepare Main Street for paving.  Police are advising drivers to avoid this area and to use alternative routes when possible due to heavy traffic congestion.

After a breakout season in 2016, Fairmont State is again regarded as one of the top football teams in the Mountain East Conference. The Falcons rank third in the conference's annual preseason poll behind two-time reigning champion Shepherd and Notre Dame. FSU received one first-place vote in the poll.
